Alfa Laval SB Anti Vacuum House Safety Valve Housing
The Alfa Laval SB Anti-Vacuum Housing is a protective Safety Valve enclosure designed to safeguard tanks from vacuum conditions that can lead to implosion, damage, or deformation. These conditions can occur during processes like tank emptying, cool rinsing after hot cleaning, or caustic cleaning in a CO2 environment.
The SB Anti Vacuum House can be combined with Safety Valves or pressure regulators mounted at the top of the tank. It is designed for use in hygienic process tanks in the Brewery, Dairy, Food, Beverage and Distilling industries, among many others.

How the SB Anti Vacuum House Works
The Alfa Laval Anti-Vacuum Housing functions at a pressure of 50 mmH2O / 5 mbar across all Valve sizes to prevent implosion. When paired with a Safety Valve, it also helps safeguard the tank from overpressure by releasing excess pressure if it surpasses the preset limit. Additionally, when used with Regulating Valves, it ensures proper pressure relief in the event that the tank pressure exceeds the designated threshold.
Cleaning-in-Place (CIP)
The Valve is cleaned in the closed position by the tank cleaning head. However, this does not include cleaning of the Valve seat. To include the Valve seat as an integral part of the cleaning cycle, an optional pneumatic force opener and optional splash guard are available.
Standard design
The Alfa Laval Anti Vacuum House consists of an AISI 316L stainless steel housing, a vacuum tail and an EPDM seal. PED 97/23/EU-compliant, it can be used as an integral part of a SCANDI BREW® tank top system.
