The Alfa Laval Rotary Jet Mixer is designed for liquid mixing, gas dispersion (aeration, deaeration, carbonation), powder mixing, and tank cleaning while reducing time taken, energy consumption and costs. Based on proven Rotary Jet Head technology, it provides quick, efficient and uniform mixing without any batch rotation or the use of baffles.
These mixers are designed for tank volumes from 100 to 1,000,000 litres, and are capable of handling re-circulation flow rates up to 90 m3/h.
Dual-function mixing and cleaning technology handles liquid, gas and powder applications efficiently – reducing time, energy consumption and operational costs significantly.
Sustainable solutions are at the core of our business, with a focus on reducing water, waste, chemical and energy usage. Our product range is green, innovative and optimised based on insights from 20+ years of sustainable application.
Together, we can make a profound, positive impact for both the planet and your budget.
Rotary Jet Mixers reduce mixing times from hours to minutes across all liquid types. The jet mixing technology is designed to enable quick, efficient mixing and dispersal of small ingredient volumes into large volumes. Installing Rotary Jet Mixers provides increased capacity at a low investment cost with no need for additional costly mixing vessels.
Rotary Jet Mixers have applications in deaeration of water, soft drinks and beer. This technology makes reducing oxygen levels to below 5 ppb a simple, reliable and economical process. CO2 and N2 can also be introduced into the Jet Mixer’s recirculation loop, causing small bubbles to be generated and the gases to be distributed uniformly throughout the tank’s contents. This allows soft drinks to be quickly carbonated, ensuring high solubility with efficiencies close to 100%.
Refitting fermentation vessels with Rotary Jet Mixers provides highly efficient agitation. Yeast can be recirculated through the mixer, ensuring improved dispersal and cutting fermentation time by up to half. This technology allows fermentation capacity to be maximised, enables efficient temperature control through forced convection improving contact with the cooling jackets, or with an inline heat exchanger. The result is improved beer quality, with the added benefit that gentle handling and avoidance of hotspots improves yeast viability.
Rotary Jet Mixers also double as highly efficient CIP Rotary Jet Heads, offering repeatable, fast, efficient cleaning that minimises use of precious site utilities, reducing water and chemical consumption & effluent volumes by up to 50%. At the same time, production downtime is minimised due to thorough impact cleaning of vessels, which prevents residue carryover or cross-contamination. This also improves final product quality.
Alfa Laval’s multifunctional Rotary Jet Mixer system makes it possible to deoxygenate, carbonate, mix powders, such as caffeine and taurine.
Alfa Laval’s Rotary Jet Mixer Technology helped Pharma Nord extend the shelflife of their dietary supplements, while avoiding the use of antioxidants.
Rotary Jet Mixers use jet technology to speed up the mixing process, reducing times from hours to minutes by efficiently dispersing ingredients throughout large tank volumes.
Yes, Rotary Jet Mixers are effective for deaeration and carbonation, enabling gases like CO2 to disperse uniformly, making processes like carbonating beverages faster and more efficient.
Yes, they enhance fermentation by recirculating yeast, improving temperature control, and cutting fermentation times by up to 50%.
Rotary Jet Mixers are designed for a wide range of tank volumes, from as small as 100 liters up to 1,000,000 liters. They can accommodate various re-circulation flow rates up to 90 m³/h, making them suitable for a variety of industrial applications, including large-scale operations.
