Alfa Laval Unique Mixproof Horizontal Tank Valves are versatile, highly flexible double block-and-bleed valves for the safe and efficient fluid management at matrix piped system intersection points. The Unique HT Mixproof Valve enables two different products or fluids to flow through the same valve with no risk of cross-contamination.
The Mixproof Horizontal Tank Valve ensures no areas of the tank inlet or outlet go uncleaned. It is specifically designed for horizontal mounting on the side of a tank, or at the bottom of a cone-formed tank. Its design provides complete cleanability in the shadow area, where there is no tank side pressure or flow to clean the connection. The Valve provides greater flexibility by enabling simultaneous tank filling and emptying.

A state-of-the-art Double-Seat design provides long-lasting, spillage-free operation thus minimising the risk of product contamination. The use of double lip seals provides added protection to ensure safe and hygienic operation.

Unique Mixproof Valves feature a top-loaded design, making maintenance fast and easy. It also features no adjustable components, a maintenance-friendly actuator and built-in leakage detection on all seals.
How the Unique Mixproof Horizontal Tank Valve Works
The Alfa Laval Unique HT Mixproof Valve is a normally closed (NC) Valve controlled from a remote location by means of compressed air. The Valve has two independent plugs to separate the liquids; the space between the seals forms a leakage chamber. Leakage is rare, but, if it occurs, product passes into the leakage chamber and out the bottom outlet for easy detection.
When the Valve is open, the leakage chamber is closed. The product then flows from one line to the other. The radial Valve design ensures virtually no product spillage during operation.
