The (Toftejorg) Alfa Laval SaniMagnum is a potent replacement for regular static spray balls because it uses liquid at low pressure, in low volumes. The device is especially well-suited for sanitary applications, and can be used in tanks that range between 5 m3 to 40 m3 (1,300 to 13,000 US gallons).
Working principle
The cleaning media’s flow rotates the head of the SaniMagnum, with fan jets establishing a swirling pattern around the vessel. This forms a vibrating impact and streaming flow that strikes all the tank or reactor’s internal surfaces. The self-cleaning feature of the SaniMagnum is achieved by driving the cleaning media through the rotating bearing track onto the neck of the elongated head.
Different spray patterns can be chosen to make the head suitable for various applications and vessel designs, ranging from simple tanks to more complex vessels with structures such as agitators and baffles.

SaniMagnum Key Features
Cost-Effective Cleaning
Rotary Spray Heads like the SaniMagnum effectively clean tanks using less water, less energy and less cleaning agents than Static Spray Balls. This helps reduce consumption of high-purity water and chemicals.
Efficient Residue Removal
As the SaniMagnum Spray Head rotates, its fan-shaped jets produce a swirling pattern throughout the vessel. This generates the wetting/impact needed for the efficient removal of the residual product.
Economic & Sustainable
The Alfa Laval SaniMagnum minimises the consumption of water and cleaning media. Easy to customise to meet customer requirements, the SaniMagnum allows companies to spend less time cleaning and more time producing.
Performance Reliability
Designed with minimal internal pressure loss, Alfa Laval Rotary Spray Heads rotate at pressures of less than 0.1 bar; however, the recommended operating pressure for the SaniMagnum is 3 bar.
Low Maintenance, Minimal Downtime
Generally speaking, routine inspection is the only maintenance required for Alfa Laval Rotary Spray Head devices. These devices are so reliable that a single device in many cases can meet the requirements of a plant over its entire lifetime. The SaniMagnum is lubricated by the cleaning media it dispenses.
High Product Integrity
To ensure product integrity, the SaniMagnum is made of safe and non-reactive hygienic materials. All materials made of stainless steel are fully traceable in accordance with EC No. 1935/2004.
Avoid hydraulic shock, hard and abrasive particles in the cleaning liquid, as this can cause increased wear and/or damage of internal mechanisms. In general, a filter in the supply line is recommended.
