Alfa Laval Diaphragm Valves are designed for hygienic, high-purity, and aseptic processing lines, efficiently shutting off, diverting, or regulating fluid flow. These lightweight, compact Valves can be manually or pneumatically operated and easily configured for a range of process requirements, including sterile and ultra-hygienic biotech and pharmaceutical applications.
The Unique DV-ST UltraPure Diaphragm Valve offers both pneumatic and manual options. Pneumatic models, controlled by Actuators, handle product pressures up to 10 bar, depending on Valve size, diaphragm material (EPDM, PTFE/EPDM, or TFM/PTFE), and Actuator type. A selection of control and Indication Units are available. Manual versions are operated by a handle with over-closure protection to extend diaphragm life. Stainless steel or composite materials are used for all metal components, depending on the handle design.

Unique DV-ST UltraPure Valve Key Features
All-stainless-steel actuators for the Alfa Laval Unique DV-ST UltraPure Diaphragm Valves are available in two types; for standard and for high-pressure duties. Both are available as standard ATEX-certified diaphragm actuators in normally closed (NC), normally open (NO), or air/air activated (A/A) versions.
The Unique DV-ST UltraPure Slim (SS/SL) features a standard actuator for product pressures up to 10 bar, depending on Valve size and diaphragm material. Its compact design reduces dead legs, simplifies drain angle installation, and offers an optional stroke limiter for flow control.

Long-Lasting Valve Service Life
Alfa Laval’s all-stainless-steel actuators for the Unique DV-ST UltraPure Diaphragm Valves come in two versions: one for standard pressure and another for high-pressure applications. Both types are available with ATEX certification and offer three configurations: normally closed (NC), normally open (NO), and air/air activated (A/A). The maintenance-free stainless-steel diaphragm actuator features an autoclavable design for high corrosion resistance, ensuring reliable performance and an extended service life without the need for regular maintenance.
Unique DV-ST UltraPure Valve Technology
The Unique DV-ST diaphragm Valves are designed to premium standards, featuring Valve bodies with low delta-ferrite content and controlled sulphur levels in all forged and block Valves. Two-way Valves, including ferrules for clamp-end bodies, are forged from a single piece, while T- and tank-outlet Valves are machined from a single block. These hygienic Diaphragm Valves come in a variety of configurations and materials.
Engineered with a weir-type design, the aseptic Diaphragm Valves are offered with both hard and soft compounds, including PTFE with EPDM backing and pure EPDM diaphragms. Each diaphragm is tracked with cure dates and compound information, ensuring compliance with FDA/USP standards and TSE/ADI requirements.

How the Unique DV-ST UltraPure Valve Works
The standard Unique DV-ST UltraPure features a Valve body, diaphragm, and either a handle or actuator. In the manual version, turning the handle compresses the diaphragm against the Valve body’s weir, closing the Valve. Alternatively, a pneumatic actuator can control the Valve’s operation, governing the piston’s axial movement to open or close the Valve as needed.
The all-stainless-steel actuators come in two types: the Unique DV-ST UltraPure Slim (SL) for standard applications and the High Pressure (HP) for demanding conditions. Both types are available as normally closed (NC), normally open (NO), or air/air activated (A/A) Valves, with ATEX-certified options for explosive environments.
