The Alfa Laval Unique SSV Tank Outlet is a versatile, reliable pneumatic Single Seat Valve with a single contact surface between the plug and the seat to minimise the risk of contamination. Its compact, modular and hygienic design meets the highest process demands in terms of hygiene and safety.
Built on the well-proven Alfa Laval Unique SSV platform, it is designed for installations that open product flow into the tank (reverse-acting version) or close product flow from the tank (standard version). A wide range of optional features enables customisation to specific process requirements.

The Unique SSV range is built on a proven modular platform used on more than a million Valves in service worldwide. Pressed from a single stainless steel disc, the Valve body is extremely strong and durable, thus ensuring production safety. The enhanced performance of the actuator makes operation safer and more efficient.
Exceptional Valve Hygiene
The Unique SSV range provides excellent hygiene and cleanability. A weld-free, Ra ≤ 0.8μm Valve body eliminates bacteria-trapping crevices. The Valve’s design supports enhanced cleaning-in-place, and a double-acting lip seal minimises risk of cross-contamination. Alfa Laval Unique SSV Valves meet hygienic standards in the dairy, food and beverage, and personal care industries. The range is EHEDG-certified, authorised to carry the 3-A symbol, and provides full traceability in compliance with EU Food Regulation 1935/2004.
Low Total Cost of Ownership
Thanks to its straightforward, reliable design, the Unique SSV range provides long service life, reduced product loss, greater product safety and more processing uptime. Few moving parts reduce service requirements and inventory costs. How the Unique SSV Tank Outlet Valve Works
The Alfa Laval Unique SSV Tangential is operated by means of compressed air from a remote location. The actuator smooths operation and protects process lines against pressure peaks, while directing or diverting fluids. The Valve can be controlled using an Alfa Laval ThinkTop® V50 or V70 for sensing and control of the Valve.
