TZ-89 Rotary Jet Head

Alfa Laval TZ-89 Rotary Jet Heads

Application

The (Toftejorg) Alfa Lava TZ-89 Rotary Jet Head offers 3D indexed impact cleaning over a set time period. Fully automatic, it represents a guaranteed way to achieve quality assurance in tank cleaning. The device is used in brewery, food, dairy and pharmaceutical processes and many other industries, and is suitable for processing, storage and transportation tanks and vessels between 0.5 and 50 m3 (130 to 13,000 US gallons). The TZ-89 is best suited to industries that use solvent cleaning in applications where very low flows are preferred, but which still need 3D impact cleaning.

Working principle

The cleaning fluid’s flow makes the nozzles perform a geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, a coarse pattern is laid out on the tank surface by the nozzles. Subsequent cycles increase pattern density, until it is completed after 8 cycles. The drive mechanism is outside the tank or process equipment, so a minimum of parts is submerged in the product. All product contact surfaces are 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel.

The choice of nozzle diameters can optimise jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure. Due to its slim design, it is ideal to retrofit Jet Heads, thereby reducing Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) costs and cleaning time.

How TZ-89 Rotary Jet Head Works

The flow of cleaning fluid makes the nozzles rotate around both
the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface. Subsequent cycles
gradually make the pattern denser until a full cleaning pattern is
reached. Once this is achieved, the machine will start over and
perform the next full cleaning pattern.
