GJ 7 Industrial Jet Head
Alfa Laval GJ 7
Industrial Jet Head
The Alfa Laval GJ 7 is our most compact Rotary Jet Head tank cleaning machine. Designed for cleaning small tanks, filling machines, drums and barrels, it pairs pressure with flow to discharge high-impact cleaning jets that spin in a constant and predictable 360-degree cleaning pattern.
The GJ 7 minimises water and cleaning media consumption, and the gear train, employing food-grade lubricants, minimises the risk of the machine sustaining particle damage during operation. Customisation to meet customer needs is quick and easy, and the GJ 7 enables companies to minimise cleaning time and maximise production time.
The Alfa Laval GJ 7 is designed to remove residues in small tanks, filling machines, drums and barrels in a broad range of industrial roles, like the paint, ink and chemical industries.
The choice of nozzle diameters can optimise jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure.

Other Specifications
Standard: 2″ NPT female and 2 1/2″ quick disconnect male
Optional: 2″ NPT female and 2 1/2″ NST (NH) hose thread male
Rotor shaft bearings are tungsten carbide. Gearbox shaft bearings in flo-thru (oilless) gearboxes are PTFE or other non-cupric materials. Standard bearings in oil-lubricated gearboxes are Oilite bronze with nonmetallic bearings available as an option.
O-ring materials are selected for each application. Viton® is standard, with Kalrez® and EPDM available. Other materials can be supplied on special order.
Dynamic shaft seals are spring-loaded, double-lipped and made of PTFE. They are reinforced with carbon fibre for extra-long wear and protection against leakage, abrasion and deposit build-up.
Interchangeable nozzles are now available in twelve sizes from 5/8″ (15.9mm) down to .177″ (4.5 mm). Nozzle sizes of 1/4″ (6.35 mm) and smaller are offered with new tungsten carbide inserts for improved jet wear at high pressures.
The sealed planetary gearhead has an external casing made of steel, surface-anodized to increase corrosion resistance. This sealed gearhead is located inside the gearbox, which itself is sealed, and thus does not require end caps and the output shaft are stainless steel.
A food-grade grease is inside the sealed gearhead casing. No customer-supplied or user-maintained lubricant is needed.

How the GJ 7 Works
The high-impact jet stream from the Alfa Laval GJ 7 Rotary Jet Head covers the entire surface of the interior of drum or barrel in a successively denser pattern. This achieves a powerful mechanical impact with a low volume of water and cleaning media.
The flow of the cleaning fluid makes the nozzles perform a geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface. The subsequent cycles gradually make the pattern denser until a full cleaning pattern is reached. Once the full cleaning pattern is reached, the machine will start over again and continue to perform the next full cleaning pattern
