Application

The (Toftejorg) Alfa Laval SaniMicro is a Rotary Spray Head that uses cleaning media to provide coverage and impact. The device is a superior alternative to conventional static spray balls because it uses low volumes of cleaning fluid at low pressure. The double ball bearing in the rotating head of the SaniMicro makes it suitable for any industrial cleaning task, including tanks, reactors, vessels and other containers ranging from 0.05 to 1 m3 (10 – 250 US gallons), depending on size and cleaning task.

Working Principle

The cleaning media’s flow causes the head of the SaniMicro to rotate, and the fan-shaped jets lay out a whirling pattern throughout the vessel or tank. This creates the impact needed to efficiently remove any product residue, and the cascading flow covers all internal surfaces of the vessel.

SaniMicro Spray Pattern

Different spray patterns can be chosen to make the head suitable for various applications and tank designs. The Alfa Laval SaniMicro is designed for the removal of residues from hygienic tanks across the dairy, brewery, distillery, beverage, food and personal care industries, among many others.

SaniMicro Key Features

Cost-Effective Cleaning

Rotary Spray Heads like the SaniMicro effectively clean tanks using less water, less energy and less cleaning agents than Static Spray Balls. This helps reduce consumption of high-purity water and chemicals.

Efficient Residue Removal

As the SaniMicro Spray Head rotates, its fan-shaped jets produce a swirling pattern throughout the vessel. This generates the wetting/impact needed for the efficient removal of the residual product.

Economic & Sustainable

The Alfa Laval SaniMicro minimises the consumption of water and cleaning media. Easy to customise to meet customer requirements, the SaniMicro allows companies to spend less time cleaning and more time producing.

Performance Reliability

Designed with minimal internal pressure loss, Alfa Laval Rotary Spray Heads rotate at pressures of less than 0.1 bar; however, the recommended operating pressure for the SaniMicro is 2 bar.

Low Maintenance, Minimal Downtime

Generally speaking, routine inspection is the only maintenance required for Alfa Laval Rotary Spray Head devices. These devices are so reliable that a single device in many cases can meet the requirements of a plant over its entire lifetime. The SaniMicro is lubricated by the cleaning media it dispenses.

High Product Integrity

To ensure product integrity, the SaniMicro is made of safe and non-reactive hygienic materials. All materials made of stainless steel are fully traceable in accordance with EC No. 1935/2004.
Avoid hydraulic shock, hard and abrasive particles in the cleaning liquid, as this can cause increased wear and/or damage of internal mechanisms. In general, a filter in the supply line is recommended.

How the SaniMicro Rotary Spray Head Works

The flow of cleaning media and water causes the SaniMicro head to rotate, with the fan-shaped jets laying out a swirling pattern throughout the tank or reactor. The wetting/impact generated efficiently removes residual product, and the cascading flow ensures all of the vessel’s internal surfaces are covered.
